Rotten weather in the Desert!

UPDATE: The system that came through today is one of five according to the local out of Bakersfield!

47 with light rain showers and wind. At least it is better than the surrounding mountains. They have winter storm warnings for later today and tonight. Yeah, it snows in the mountains here in the High Desert.

Got a Mythbusters Marathon on Discovery to help out. I am getting tired of the Michelle Obammystain PSA for Haiti, though. I know about the earthquake, already. Don’t beat me up over it.

Friday! And a three day weekend?

Yay! I made it through this one.

It was a busy week and filled with COLD mornings on the flight line.

And then the news of the earthquake in Haiti. Sad indeed. But my young brethren in Second Fleet are coming to the rescue. Not withstanding the idiot danny glover’s take on the situation. Must be pals with all the trash at MSNBC and CNN!

And now the dregs of society, you know, harry, nancy, max, chuckie, babs, dianne and those other two bitches from Washington have cuddled up with the skanks known as unions on the healthcare corruption in process in both houses. With a bit of good luck, the seat in the senate formerly held by drunken, teddy “the swimmer” kennedy will be occupied by a real, upstanding individual and the aforementioned scum of the earth will get their collective comeuppance.

Even the occasional tantrum throwing resident crybaby at Fox News, Juan Williams has had it with this bunch. Says something, doesn’t it. At least the Cambridge PD union came out in support of Mr. Brown in this upcoming election. Good on them. Some Californistan PDs could take a few pointers.

Back to the Grind

And it is back at it tomorrow. After a period of short weeks and long weekends, normal strikes back in the AM. Tomorrow for yours truly is a training day. The 416 FLTS calls it “Back in The Saddle” day. Almost original isn’t ? Sort of like a Safety Stand Down. Odds are we will be working on airplanes by noon. And it is an all hands thing with both shifts being onboard at the same time. Yup, falling all over each other.

Three Month Mark

Precisely three months ago today, I had the surgery to remove what turned out to be a cancerous kidney. A lot has happened since the discovery of what was then called a Renal Mass. I started a new job after being laid off in February from an aircraft plant in Wichita. I have been at Edwards for about a month and a half now. But every once in a while, I have one of those,,,,is this really happening moments, sometimes when I am on the flight line looking at the desert and the mountains in and around it. Like those in the header of this blog for instance.
Quite the three months, I would have to say.
And today was a splendid day!
